Job Summary
The People & Culture Administrator - Junior assists the Director of People & Culture with recruitment and selection, and office related duties.
Work Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in office)
City: Surrey
Type: Temporary - 6 months
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 CAD/annum
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write or assist in the development of job postings and job descriptions.
- Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives, and meeting with managers to discuss needs.
- Maintain and build applicant sources by researching and interacting with community services, universities, employment agencies, recruiters, internet sites and conducting job fairs.
- Monitor and share relevant career fair opportunities with hiring managers, handle bookings, prep those attending with materials and information, and debrief with attendees.
- Conduct daily maintenance of Applicant Tracking system: approving jobs, reviewing new applicants for qualifications, and answering ATS related emails.
- Market jobs postings on external sites (Craigslist, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Conduct phone screens and reference checks and participate in interviews as required.
- Submit requests for compliance and clearances (drug testing, personality profiles).
- Conduct first-day orientation with new employees and coordinate bi-monthly/quarterly group orientation sessions.
- Provide P&C-system user support to candidates and hiring managers.
- Track and follow through on P&C-related cases.
- Cover Reception as needed and assist with other departments to manage events or administrative duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required or Strongly Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Microsoft suite, including Visio and PowerPoint (intermediate level).
- Strong written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions and take direction.
- Be highly organized, detail orientated, with a sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and use discretion when disclosing information.
- The ability to maintain a high level of internal and external customer service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution, preferably in business with an emphasis on human resources or equivalent education and experience.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in HR or recruiting.
- Knowledge of/experience with the following systems and skills is preferred:
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
