Job Summary
Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) Inc. is seeking a US-based Control System Specialist to join our Professional Development Services (PDS) team. In this role, you will focus on designing and delivering control system solutions, including project engineering and BAS controller programming, for our Partners, OEMs, and Corporate Accounts. You will create clear control system drawings and controller application databases tailored to each project’s unique requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales on incoming requests for Control System Solutions
- Evaluate feasibility and develop potential solution architectures
- Partner with Project Manager and Team Lead to develop project scopes and quotes
- Provide engineering services to meet distributor demand, focusing on BACnet controller databases and control system solutions
- Advise customers on product selection, BAS architecture, and network layout
- Deliver control drawings and controller databases as per customer contracts
- Occasionally travel locally or via air travel (up to 1 week) to assist customers onsite
- Support ongoing and completed projects within the PDS group
- Ensure projects meet high standards of quality and productivity
Secondary Duties
- Participate in group planning and internal process development
- Provide training and on-site troubleshooting support
- Assist with documentation and other PDS services as needed
Performance Measures
- Complete projects within +/- 20% of allocated hours
- Achieve 100% positive customer satisfaction
- Maintain up-to-date project reporting within a 2-week period
Qualifications
- Degree or Technical Certification in a relevant Technologies program, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Application Engineer in Building Automation Controls
- Strong creativity and attention to detail in designing control solutions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of HVAC applications, equipment, and system operations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar engineering software (preferred)
- Experience with HVAC control systems, networking, and building automation or IoT technologies (preferred)
Work Location: Remote – US
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Travel: Occasional travel to sites for up to 1 week at a time, several times per year
Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 USD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
