Job summary
The Business Development Manager plans, directs, and controls the sales of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies product and/or services on a national basis with national organizations and large end user clients or market segment, and also develops new pull-through business.

- 120,000 to 140,000 USD
- Plus Commission
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
Duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop relative sales objectives, plans, programs, and budgets.
- Direct sales operations through a combination of direct sales activities to key stakeholder customer groups and through the sales arm of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies independent distributor network.
- Generate new business through the promotion of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies products.
- Prospect for new owner-direct, national account opportunities. Develops the relationships with the client and closes opportunities resulting in new business.
- Participate in major sales presentations to key stakeholder groups- can be in the presence of the Partner or not. May involve joint target selling with Delta Partners or Delta Group business units.
- Represent Delta in national or targeted market trade shows.
- May review and evaluate client specifications and coordinate in-house resources to satisfy client needs.
- Review system layout and system applications during the sales process.
- Vertical market definition and development of business development initiatives for same.
- Responsible for forecasting, quoting and closing long-term projects with multiple accounts.
- Regularly communicate with the management team regarding opportunities in play, forecasts and current sales progress using our CRM system and sales reporting tools.
Performance measures
- Number of new major accounts secured.
- Retention of key accounts and continued business growth with existing accounts.
- Direct corporate account sales volume.
Required skills and abilities
- Professional selling skills.
- Proven consultative selling skills.
- Ability to work independently from remote locations.
- Prospecting, qualifying and developing solutions for major clients.
- Must be able to travel extensively and have a valid Passport for travel.
- Proven ability to influence/drive/motivate a sales organization where no reporting relationship exists.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) coupled with strong interpersonal skills both in one-on-one and group settings.
Preferred skills and abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and recognized CRM software(s).
- Proven track record in delivering sales objectives.
- Experience with the GSA projects and process a plus
Minimum qualifications and experience
- Ten years of BAS industry experience desired.
- Direct sales experience, preferably with a strong background in the bid and spec market.
