Product Manager – Access and Lighting Controls

Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead our efforts in expanding the Access and Lighting Controls solutions product line. You will be responsible for products from conception to launch, effectively bridging the gap between customer needs and product development teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product management, experience in the Lighting Industry and familiarity with Access Controls. You will report to the Director of Product Management.

Work Location: In-office environment that is currently 3 days per week
City: Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage all aspects of products in your portfolio from conception to release and throughout the products life cycle.
  • Maintain feature roadmap and ensure alignment with business strategy and priorities.
  • Define high level marketing requirements to produce the product vision and scope.
  • Interview user groups, meet with customers and develop use cases.
  • Review and prioritize incoming feature requests, issue reports, and customer needs.
  • Coordinate with other business units to ensure system compatibility and feature alignment.
  • Perform product validation and oversee beta trial program.
  • Coordinate product releases, including documentation and announcements.
  • Review documentation and provide guidance and direction to Technical Writers.
  • Develop and maintain product pricing strategy and gross margin for existing and new product offerings.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and external customer meetings.

Required skills and abilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and translate market insights into actionable strategies and initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience with Lighting solutions and/or Lighting Controls.
  • Experience with Access Controls solutions would be an asset.
  • Technical knowledge on smart buildings, data centers, healthcare, energy management would be an asset.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years experience in product management or industry experience with lighting solutions
