Job Summary
The primary goal of the UX/UI Designer is to apply User Interface and User Experience (UX/UI) methods and techniques within our cross-functional development teams to create simple, elegant, innovative, and easy to use products that exceed the expectations of our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with customers, product managers and other stakeholders to discover, analyze and document use-cases for new products.
- Create user personas, user scenarios, and develop concept models.
- Identify product usability issues and make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and deliver high-level and detailed storyboards, workflow diagrams, user interface sketches, mock-ups, prototypes, and detailed design specifications.
- Communicate and document design concepts as well as specifications to the development team.
- Participate in the planning and execution of user testing, AB testing, as well as the analysis and reporting of test results during different project phases.
- Support development teams as they deliver products that implement your designs.
- Design for a variety of platforms including web-based and mobile-interface.
- Continually add to your understanding of UI/UX methods and technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and quickly change focus between multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written and drawing / visual techniques.
- Self-driven, data-driven, and results oriented.
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Preferably undergraduate degree in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science or other relevant discipline or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
- Experience with cross-browser and mobile design.
- Preferably 2 years applied experience in UI design and UX design research.
Key Attributes
- Experience with one or more design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or equivalent drawing/mapping programs).
- Basic understanding of HTML, HTML5, CSS.
Work Location: Hybrid (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: Full Time (12-Month Contract)
Salary: 76,000 to 100,000 CAD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
